2021 | Henricksen Butler / Wells Cargo

It isn’t often that you get a call from an interior design firm explaining that they have a client who wants to produce custom art for their headquarters–and you’ve been selected to help create it. So when Henriksen Butler called explaining that they needed images for the headquarters of Wells Cargo, a Las Vegas construction materials manufacturing company, it sounded like a trip to photography Disneyland. After some good discussions, an early morning safety briefing, and the donning of some PPE, an all-day exploration began to discover and create visual assets for HB. The quarry sits smack dab in the middle of the Las Vegas Valley, only a few blocks from the strip. Yet this monumental cavity in the earth’s surface goes hundreds of feet down. The pit’s precipitous plunge is so treacherous and so central in the city that my escort reported that several unlucky individuals fleeing police have unsuspectingly scaled the surrounding walls or even crashed their vehicle through the quarry’s perimeter only to meet an unfortunate fate.

Included here are renderings of some of the art created with the visual assets we delivered as well as some favorites photos from the shoot (which yielded 2400+ raw exposures).
