Oddello Retail Space at World Market Las Vegas

In all our time living and shooting in Las Vegas we had never set foot in the massive World Market buildings just off the I-15 in downtown Las Vegas–until January. With the call to photography a brand new retail space inside World Market we finally had the opportunity to go inside on of these three massive edifices to do what we do best–capture a stunning space in a photograph. The Oddello store inside the “mall” is modern and beautiful with under-illuminated pedestals,  bold graphics, and a generous amount of lighting. The blue and white retail space has a clean, modern feel and draws attention to the products being featured. We hope you like what we snapped!

Consumer Electronics Show 2017

We had a great time shooting the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this month. From Panasonic in Central Hall at the LVCC to Philips at the Venetian to BMW and Visteon in the tents outside the convention center, we had a great time running around like crazy trying photograph as many exhibits as possible. Empty exhibits are only found before and after the show, so early mornings and late nights are part of the trade-show-shooting process so that means we get some of these magnificent booths to ourselves for a time (without bumping and tripping into a horde of onlookers.) But make no mistake, we spent plenty of time feeling like cattle like everyone else in the massive crowds that occupy the spaces during convention hours. Shooting candids of booth employees and guests can get grueling when one barely has enough space to aim one’s camera, but all said and done, we think we came away with some rewarding photos. Have a look and we’ll see you at CES 2018!

SEMA / AAPEX 2016 Las Vegas

Stunning trade show booths have been the subject of some of our favorite work over the past few months. SEMA and AAPEX came to Las Vegas at the end of October / beginning of November and we had the chance to shoot some incredible exhibits. At AAPEX, the ACDelco booth featured ipads with virtual reality apps installed which allowed visitors to aim the tablet throughout the booth and view the exhibit as if it were an early 1900s auto parts shop. It also featured 3D printed auto parts which could be placed on flat-screen displays which recognized the part and brought up interactive information on the part including specifications and videos.

At SEMA, Chevrolet’s massive booth at the heart of Hall C in the convention center was a tribute to the Camaro, featuring several classic Camaros including the worlds first, and the worlds fastest. The exhibit also offered attendees the chance to check out the array of Chevy accessories and Chevy engines along with a few choice trucks and a prototype utility vehicle.

IGT Exhibit at G2E

The IGT exhibit at G2E was a very Vegas booth for a very Vegas show. We had the privilege of shooting IGT’s massive booth at the Sands Exposition Center at the end of September. With a 100-yard curved video wall, three paneled-video “chandeliers” and flashy new products including a 4D interactive slot experience, the exhibit was a hit. With the help of a 10-foot ladder, we were able to get a birds-eye feel of the space which was crowded with banks of slot machines ready for anxious attendees to try out.

2016 Photography for Mark Tracy

Las-Vegas-Interior-Design-Photography-Entry-2016_9_02

We’ve been shooting for Mark Tracy of Chemical Space for over a decade. Consequently, we’ve seen just about everything he’s designed. That said, we can say with a bit of authority that his recent design of a home in The Ridges shows his skill at designing clean, modern living spaces as well as any project he’s done. With stunning materials and open layouts, Mark is the quintessential executor of a Vegas space, making a comfortable, livable home which can quickly convert to a upscale party venue.

Cartoon Network Trade Show Booth

LicensingExpoTradeShow2016_EmptyBooth_001

Cartoon Network had an incredible booth at the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas this summer. Topped with three inflatable Powerpuff Girls and featuring a two-story enclosure with multiple conference rooms wherein deals were sealed, the CN booth packed a visual punch at the convention center at Mandalay Bay. We had the privilege of photographing this monumental tradeshow exhibit and had a great time focusing on the wide, overall visual presence of the booth. Likewise, we wanted some simple, clean images of the subspaces within the booth, like seating areas and conference rooms. Then in post-production, we took some liberties in isolating the booth from its surroundings, muting some backgrounds and editing out some areas altogether.

A Summer Estate

The backyard of a spanish-style villa with grass and desert foliage in the foreground, patio furniture and umbrella in the center and various trees including palm trees throughout and a pool and home in the background amidst a blue-and-red sunset.
We recently had the privilege of photographing a remodel of an estate in one of Las Vegas’ older neighborhoods. The goal was to create images which evoked the feeling of a resort which was the goal of this substantial makeover. We had a great time roaming the grounds in the scorching heat and shooting it as if we were creating a brochure for an upscale hotel chain.

There are times when weather is an obstacle (just as shooting all day in mid-June.) However, on rare occasions, mother nature can reward a diligent effort with unexpected shooting opportunities–as it did on this particular evening. Clouds which only minutes before were casting a hazy grey light suddenly became a dramatic canvas of yellows, orange, red, and pink. When shooting away from the sun, the clouds become a deep lavender. Suddenly this beautiful desert residence had a surreal light cast over it and upon it.

Included are a few images of the look of daytime, nighttime, and the unnatural sunset of a June afternoon at an estate in Las Vegas which seems like it was created for summertime.

Photographing Large Commercial Buildings

CommercialREPhotography_May2016-3

Our daily rate worked great when Colliers recently needed photography of three large commercial buildings in Henderson. They wanted to capture what the spaces looked like in broad daylight, but also hoped to capture some moodier twilight shots where the colors are more dramatic and the deep blues of the evening sky add saturation and drama to the photos. The challenge in taking pictures of a large commercial building is in capturing the space as a whole while still representing features and lending interest to the image. After all, these are large, monolithic edifices meant for producing, packaging, and shipping product, not dressing up for a glamor shot. But immensity has its upsides. We tried to focus on the symmetry of garage doors, the vast entangled lines of the warehouse, ceiling, the vanishing contours of the building into the horizon, a touch of desert hills in the distance, and the end result is, well, pretty glamorous. We work with what we’re given, right?

Beerpark at Paris Las Vegas

EnFold_BeerparkLasVegas-14

When Minneapolis-based En-fold built a modern retractable awning over Budweiser’s Beerpark in front of Paris Las Vegas, they needed some quality images to show off their work in such a high-profile location. We were happy to tackle the task of capturing their installation, making sure to incorporate the dramatic Las Vegas backdrop while maintaining the product as the star of the show. It was important to incorporate En-fold’s branding into photos as well as to show how the system operates. Using both wide-angle and long lenses, we were able to produce a wide selection of images which En-fold can use to demonstrate how their technology allows Beerpark to stay comfortably shaded by day while letting the neon pour in at night. We opted for tight images of the folded awning against the backdrop of Paris’ French motifs to tell the story of what, how, and where in a single, detailed image. Going wide, we were able to capture the full length of En-fold system with the Eiffel Tower soaring above. Together, UniSystems has some spectacular photos to show off their product in this one-of-a-kind venue!

High Design at Medezin

With the legalization of medial marijuana in Nevada, dispensaries have sprung up all over Las Vegas. Medezin is a brand new dispensary seeking to elevate the medical marijuana shopping experience. With the owners wanting to emulate the open feel of an Apple Store, designer Briana Tiberti used the minimalist Apple retail design scheme and threw bold paint colors, sleek wood and tile surfaces, loud murals featuring Vegas iconography, and a rich green faux-grass. The result is a modern, yet vibrant and richly visual space, the very opposite of the dark, speakeasy-esque look one might expect. A beautifully photogenic space, Medezin was a pleasure to photograph.
